COLLEGE OF REHABILITATIVE SCIENCES

The College of Rehabilitative Sciences or CRS is now on its 33rd year in Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU), Cebu’s Premier University for Health Sciences which has been pioneering World-class Rehabilitative Education and Services in Southern Philippines since 1974.

The college was formally opened August 13, 1992 with two programs – PHYSICAL THERAPY (PT) and OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OT). The PT Program’s inception was in 1974, with a 100% Passing in the Philippine Licensure Examination of its first batch of graduates in 1978. The second program OT started in 1991, was the first OT Program in the Visayas-Mindanao. Two more programs followed - the first RESPIRATORY THERAPY (RTp) Program in the Visayas in 2005, and the first SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (SLP) Program in the Visayas-Mindanao in 2012.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE is our priority. In CRS we make Rehab Shine and Soar! Since 1989, we have produced 172 Board Placers in the Licensure Exams for PT (29), OT (90), RTp (48), and SLP (5), with 5 #1 Topnotchers.  All four programs are among the Top Performing nationwide.

Our OT Program is the first to be Approved in the Visayas-Mindanao by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists or WFOT. And our PT and OT Programs are PAASCU Level 2 Accredited , and our RTp and SLP Programs are PAASCU Level 1 Accredited - the first in Cebu and even Visayas-Mindanao!

We also prioritize holistic development as a Man…“Primum Homo Esto” with the aim to transform our students to have COMMITTED REHABILITATIVE SERVICE or C.R.S. which is the College Motto.

CRS handles the CDU Wellness and Aquatics Center, the first university-based Aquatic Center in the whole Philippines, and the CDU Prosthetics-Orthotics Center, the first university-based Brace Center in Visayas-Mindanao.
